SOZO L-Dex Measurement
(Cancer Related Lymphoedema Detection & Prevention)

Maintaining fluid balance is vital for optimal health, as every system in the body relies on it. Cancer survivors are especially at risk for fluid imbalance due to surgical procedures and treatments, which can lead to lymphoedema.

The SOZO is a non-invasive tool that helps in early detection of lymphoedema by directly measuring extracellular fluid. This allows lymphoedema to be detected up to 10 months earlier than other methods. In addition to detecting lymphoedema, SOZO also monitors your fluid status and body composition, providing valuable insights into your overall health.

When to Get a SOZO Scan:

  • Before Surgery: Establish your normal baseline.

  • Every 3 Months After Surgery: Monitor for early signs of lymphoedema, track progress, and ensure peace of mind.

  • If you are planning on having additional cancer treatment such as radiation.

Early detection and intervention lead to better treatment outcomes, improving quality of life and reducing long-term healthcare costs.

SOZO Scan for Body Composition (Lipoedema and or weight gain)

A SOZO Scan offers a detailed understanding of your health, beyond just height, weight, and BMI. This scan is painless, takes less than a minute, and provides comprehensive insights to help manage your health, monitor progress, and address chronic conditions.

This scan is particularly beneficial for women post-cancer treatment who are struggling with weight management, as well as those with weight and fluid concerns related to Lipoedema or Lipo-lymphoedema.

When to Get a SOZO Scan for Lipoedema:

  • If you are attempting to lose weight

  • Preparing for liposuction surgery

  • Wanting to improve mobility

  • Managing oedemas

Compression Therapy

Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (IPC) devices are pressure-controlled pumps based on manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) techniques. Any lymphatic conditions concerning swelling or compromised veins can be treated with an IPC device. Pain after vigorous sport can also be reduced with these devices.

In some cases several treatments are required for reduction the IPC device in conjunction with other management techniques may be  more cost effective. These IPC devices are also available for home use, and we offer a trial to buy rental program. Having a home device can make treatment easier, which leads to greater compliance and therefore better results.

Photobiomodulation (Cold Laser) Treatment

Also known as ‘Cold Laser or Low Level Light Therapy’ offers safe and natural ‘pain relief’. Clinical trials indicate ‘cold laser’ acts on DNA to promote post-operative and post-traumatic healing, accelerating recovery through improved immune response, and reducing inflammation and pain. Hand held devices and scanning devices are used in conjunction with MLD for the treatment of lymphoedema, muscular pain, scarring and burns or after radiation treatment.

Using the cold laser allows for specific conditions and tissue types to be addressed while the therapist combines manual techniques. The results are longer lasting and more effective, particularly if followed by subsequent treatments.

Laser treatrments are often used in combiation with other treatments.
